in my 20's, originally from Wales, (the small country next to England, the one with all the sheep and rain). I'm a sailor by profession and by heart. I'm a daughter, a sister and a girlfriend.

I undertook what’s known as 'Operation RATS' (Run Away To Sea) in 2014 and it was the best decision I ever made. Having always lived near the ocean, growing up on a diet of boats and water sports, I had found myself with a busy but boring life of nursing and supervising a retail store. I needed a change and I needed it quickly.

So on the 2nd of January 2014, I made the change. I went to Club Yachting in the Canary Islands, for intensive sail training: from Zero to Hero in 12 weeks. With my Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate clutched tightly in hand, I did a few deliveries on yachts, and then became an RYA instructor. I have been teaching, skippering, and delivering yachts ever since.

Meanwhile, within the first two weeks of Operation RATS, like any good sailor girl, I found my very own Sailor Boy, Franco from Italy. We now live, work, love and sail together. Having lived together for the past 2 years in the Canary Islands, we have just got a new job in the Southern Hemisphere. We will be soon be working on a 62ft private charter Catamaran. We are picking the boat up in Sydney, then sailing it north of Australia across the Indian Ocean all the way over to the Seychelles, where we will be living in the Seychelles for the foreseeable future!

EEEEEEKKK!!

WHO'S THE SAILOR GIRL?
